PPIE

Help shape our research

T1MED is built with the people it is for. Alongside the young people who take part in the study itself, we work with a small group of people who read what we produce and tell us when we have got it wrong.

This is called Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement, or PPIE. It is not the same as taking part in the research. It is helping us do the research well.

Who we are looking for

  • People living with Type 1 Diabetes, of any age

  • Parents and carers of a young person with T1D

  • Healthcare professionals who work with people with T1D

You do not need any research experience. What matters is your experience of Type 1 Diabetes, not your experience of studies.

What you would be doing

  • Reviewing our materials. Information sheets, questionnaires, interview questions, and the words we use in the app itself. You tell us what is confusing, what sounds patronising, and what we have left out. Helping us make sense of results. When we have findings, we bring them to you before we write them up. You tell us whether they match your experience and what we may have misread.

Advising on direction. Which questions are worth asking, and which matter less than we think they do.

How much you do is entirely up to you. Some people comment on a single document. Others stay involved across the whole project.

    How to get involved

Fill in the form below, or email us directly at T1MED@warwick.ac.uk. Tell us a little about yourself and which group you belong to, and we will reply explaining what is coming up and how you could be involved.

There is no commitment in getting in touch, and you can step away at any point.
